Remote Monitoring and Virtual Wards Resource Series: Stage 1 - Start

Written by: Nicola Chicken - 11th October 2022

In our recent blog, ‘How digital remote monitoring and virtual ward solutions help improve the delivery of patient care’ project manager Nicola Chicken discussed our plans to release a series of resources to support our Integrated Care Board (ICB) colleagues with their virtual wards and remote monitoring ambitions.

Our series of resources are built around a phased approach to best cover the main stages of implementing remote monitoring and virtual wards: Start, Engage, Deliver, Embed, Sustain. To summarise the elements in each of these stages and how they fit into the implementation process, we have created an Implementation Wheel.

For the first in the series, ‘Start’, we are pleased to share a short video introducing you to the Implementation Wheel and how it can be used to support you through the implementation process. In this video Nicola talks you through each stage of the wheel, how they connect together and some tips for moving successfully through the implementation process.

We have created a succinct four-page guide on two elements of the ‘Start’ stage – Building your initial business case and utilising a MoSCoW matrix to refine digital solution requirements. This guide provides key lessons we learnt while implementing remote monitoring and virtual ward technology over the last two years, in a way that is easy to digest and pragmatic.

We hope that you find these resources useful, but we are also keen to hear any feedback or queries you may have. Please feel free to contact Nicola Chicken at nicola.chicken@yhahsn.com
