cover of this year's impact report which is purple with a picture of the Deep in Hull at nightWe have now published our annual report, showcasing the impacts of our work over the last 12 months.

Our Impact Report highlights the programmes of work we have been delivering over the last year, with our partners, across healthcare, industry and academia to improve the health and prosperity of our region.

Highlights of the report include:

  • Our work tackling has seen us engage with 40 Primary Care Networks across the region to run an education and training programme around CVD prevention for 620 participants.
  • Our involvement in the independent evaluation of a Lenus Health and University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust project demonstrating that Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) patients have seen an improved quality of life while the hospital has reduced A&E attendance and hospital admissions for the condition by 50%.
  • Our work through NHS England’s Innovation for Healthcare Inequalities Programme (InHip) in which we have supported three projects: improving asthma care across Humber and North Yorkshire, a community outreach project improving CVD outcomes in West Yorkshire and community blood pressure testing in West Yorkshire. Across all three of these projects 4,443 patients have been involved, with 1,072 patients diagnosed and 94 patients treated.
  • The launch of the first non-medical mental health collaborative staff bank. 1,400 members of staff have joined across three mental health trusts in West Yorkshire, which enhances workforce flexibility.
  • Our support to small to medium enterprises (SMEs) in the region. In the last year we have spent approximately 4,127 hours supporting 387 companies ranging from to individual clinical entrepreneurs and innovators through programmes like Propel@YH, to support the growth of HealthTech and life sciences across our region.

Several themes underpin our work programmes and priorities, which are presented in the report. These include health inequalities, workforce, equality, diversity and inclusion, digital solutions and artificial intelligence, stimulating economic growth and environmental sustainability.
