Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber’s Propel@YH Boot Camp, a five-day digital health accelerator programme, is delighted to welcome three Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to the UK, who will bring innovative HealthTech solutions to the region’s population.
The Boot Camp builds on our successful Propel@YH programme and seeks to bring the best health innovations from around the world with the Yorkshire and Humber region being the first to make use of them.
It is hugely promising for the citizens of Yorkshire and Humber whose patients will get to benefit from the best technology first. We are also keen that these businesses consider Yorkshire their home in the UK, bringing the region the benefits of investment and job creation that the programme secures.
Innovations chosen for the 2024 Canadian Boot Camp included: a solution that quickly and effectively treats Moisture Associated Skin Damage (MASD) in adults and a company transforming healthcare delivery by streamlining processes through automation and data analytics.
The small to medium enterprises (SMEs) selected were:

Dr Neville Young, Director of Enterprise and Innovation at Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber said:
“This is our second Canadian Boot Camp and we’re delighted to welcome this new cohort to the UK.
“The programme offers international innovators the opportunity to access the UK healthcare market and hopefully establish a base in Yorkshire and the Humber. It supports SMEs with tailored content and knowledge in five key areas: the NHS, legal, finance and funding, networking, growth and spread.
“It’s great to see innovative companies from across the globe wanting to bring their products to the UK, particularly here in Yorkshire and the Humber.
“The 7 SMEs have successfully raised funding in their home territories to cover the cost of their initial UK market entry.
If we can successfully support these innovators to establish themselves in Yorkshire, we can use the great regional assets available to us combined with the strength of the Health Innovation Network to spread these innovations across the country, securing investment, jobs and health and wellbeing benefits for the whole of the UK.”
