Funding available for transforming wound care test and evaluation

Posted: 6th April 2023

We are inviting applications from systems and community providers who would receive funding to be one of eight test and evaluation sites (TES) for the Transforming Wound Care (TWC) programme.Transforming wound care

TWC is a national adoption and spread programme delivered by the AHSN Network which aims to improve care for patients with lower limb wounds.

The overall aim of the programme is to ensure all patients with lower limb wounds receive evidence-based care which leads to:

  • faster healing of wounds
  • improved quality of life for patients
  • reduced likelihood of wound recurrence
  • uses health and care resources more effectively.

£70,000 funding is available to be used in line with the key aims and objectives for the TWC programme. As part of the commitment to the improvement programme and access to the additional programme funding, monthly data returns against a series of metrics will be required. This is essential to evaluate and evidence the impacts of the programme and ensure you are supported throughout this journey.

AHSNs will use their expertise in implementation, quality improvement and spread and adoption to support ICSs to test models of implementation that aim to reduce variation in lower limb wound care, raising the overall standards of care.
