Below is a comprehensive guide to Propel@YH and eligibility criteria for applications. If you do not find the answer to your query, please email us for further information.
Recognising that the sales cycle within healthcare can be challenging and often lengthy, Propel@YH will provide a structured programme of support and advice that will enable organisations to accelerate their growth and market presence in the longer term.
Propel@YH will deliver a unique and tailored set of advisory, guidance and support services to enable organisations from around the world to bring their innovative digital health and patient solutions to the region’s patients and the wider health economy.
During the six-month programme, the cohort businesses will attend masterclasses, digital innovator surgeries, matchmaking events and activities centred around human-centred design, clinical safety by design and understanding procurement in the NHS.
This will include access to expert partner organisations, including NHS provider and commissioning organisations, academic organisations and primary care representatives. They will also receive expert mentorship and dedicated one-to-one support, covering topics such as marketing, legal, finance and more.

Applicants are required to submit a written application form and short video presentation (max. three minutes) about their company and solution via the apply now page.
Application forms and video presentations will be assessed and a shortlist of 12 organisations will be drawn up. Shortlisted organisations will be supported to develop their proposition and invited to pitch to a panel of experts, including representatives from industry, the NHS and across the health and care landscape; patients; and investment groups.
Following the pitch event, ten organisations will be chosen to participate in the six-month Propel@YH 2020 Digital Health Accelerator Programme.
This video should complement the written application form and is intended to help the assessment panel learn more about you, your organisation and the solutions that you provide.
Consider it an opportunity to remotely give the assessment panel your elevator pitch. Feel free to be creative in how you deliver your message, but please ensure sound and lighting are of a sufficient quality to ensure your message is clearly articulated.
Once recorded, please upload to YouTube on an unlisted link, and share this link with us where indicated on the application form. Alternatively, you can send this file to us via WeTransfer or other file sharing applications (please ensure that you clearly label your organisation’s name) and send to Jon.Fordham@yhahsn.com.
Yes, though your organisation must not be currently participating in an accelerator elsewhere within the UK. If you have previously participated in an accelerator, you will need to provide a summary of the outcomes. This will be taken into account as part of the application process.
The full list of Propel@YH experts and mentors will be announced shortly.
The final listings will be made available to the cohort business upon joining the programme, but the schedule will include masterclasses, expert partner clinics, matchmaking events and activities centred around human-centred design, clinical safety by design and understanding procurement in the NHS.
Propel@YH is based at Nexus in Leeds, West Yorkshire, where most of the programme masterclasses and events will take place.
Funding is not offered as part of the Propel@YH Digital Health Accelerator Programme. However, our six-month programme will deliver a unique and tailored set of advisory, guidance and support services which will include signposting or introductions to organisations who may be able to provide financial support.
