Care beyond the bedside: The Leeds virtual wards model

REGISTER

Join Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber  to find out how virtual wards are transforming patient care, with a model that is easily scalable and applicable to any hospital.

The Leeds virtual ward uses very little tech and involves non specialist nurses to deliver care remotely – achieving huge bed savings and cost efficiencies.

Feedback from patients has been overwhelmingly positive for the hospital-level of care they are receiving at home, with 93 per cent saying they would recommend virtual wards.

Data will be presented from two randomised trials and two health economic evaluations, to share the proven benefits of a model that is used in multiple specialties including cardiology, surgery recovery and oncology.

This event will bring together clinicians, operational leaders, digital teams, patients, NHS partners and system leaders to share practical learning, celebrate success, and explore future opportunities for service transformation.

What to expect

  • Clinical case studies from established virtual ward pathways
  • Patient stories highlighting the impact of care at home
  • Lessons learned from implementation and service development
  • Workforce transformation and multidisciplinary working
  • Digital, data and infrastructure insights
  • Interactive discussions on future opportunities and pathway expansion
  • Networking with colleagues from across the NHS

Why attend?

Virtual wards are playing an increasingly important role in supporting hospital flow, reducing unnecessary admissions and improving patient experience.

This event provides an opportunity to learn directly from teams delivering services on the ground and to share ideas with organisations looking to develop or enhance their own virtual ward models.
