Applications open for Digital Ambassadors programme

The Digital Ambassadors Programme initially began in West Yorkshire and due to its success expanded across the North East & Yorkshire. It has been delivered to six cohorts so far, with over 100 Digital Ambassadors completing the training across the North East and Yorkshire region! 

Aimed at the healthcare workforce, the programme is designed to strengthen the digital innovation, transformation, and improvement skills of the workforce, covering a wide array of topics and features guest speakers who are experts in their respective fields. 

Each session provides a blend of real-world insights and theoretical knowledge on how to drive and facilitate the adoption of digital innovation and transformation within the realm of health and care. 

While the programme primarily focuses on the role of digital innovation and the conditions for success, it also champions the vital importance of patient and public involvement, co-design, and the reduction of health inequalities in the process of safeguarding the future of healthcare services. 

Programme information: 

The programme comprises of nine virtual sessions, lasting two hours each. They are delivered via Microsoft Teams, utilising a blended learning approach with our expert speakers, interactive sessions and peer discussions. 

The programme will run virtually for nine consecutive weeks, beginning 9th September 2025 and is free for all participants.

Week 1:Tuesday 9th September 12:00-14:00 

  • Understanding the NHS and your role in it 

 Week 2: Tuesday 16th September 12:30-14:30 

  • Introduction to digital technologies and innovation 

Week 3:Wednesday 24th September 12:30 – 14:30 

  • Understanding digital readiness 

 Week 4:Tuesday 30th September 12:30 – 14:30 

  • Understanding the governance and legislation that support digital transformation and innovation 

 Week 5:Tuesday 7th October 12:30 – 14:30 

  • Inclusive digital transformation and co-design: exploring how technology can be used to create an environment that is accessible and inclusive for everyone 

 Week 6:Tuesday 14th October 12:30 – 14:30 

  • Digital innovation and the art of the possible 

 Week 7:Tuesday 21st October 12:30 – 14:30 

  • How to successfully measure the impact change and how this can help to develop a case for change or a business case 

 Week 8:Tuesday 28th October 12:30 – 14:30 

  • How digital innovation and transformation can help to reduce inequity and inequalities in health 

 Week 9:Thursday 6th November 12:30 – 14:30 

  • Ambassador’s network and course reflections: consolidating and reflecting upon the lessons learnt in the previous modules.
