This autumn leaders from across Yorkshire and the Humber’s health, NHS, life sciences and public sectors will come together to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of healthcare innovation at this year’s Yorkshire Post Health and Life Sciences Business breakfast.
Dr Neville Young, Director of Enterprise and Innovation at Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber, will host the morning event. He said: “I am delighted to be chairing the Yorkshire Post Life Sciences Business Breakfast for the third consecutive year. This event provides a valuable opportunity to bring together our region’s vibrant community of innovators, industry leaders, researchers and government representatives to discuss the future of health and life sciences in Yorkshire and the Humber.
“This year’s agenda once again explores some of the most pressing challenges facing our healthcare system. From harnessing the potential of AI in routine care to developing the skills and workforce needed to support its adoption, discussions will cover everything from improving digital literacy and creating new specialist roles to exploring how Yorkshire and the Humber can attract investment, support high-growth businesses and accelerate the journey from research to real-world impact.

Richard Paxman, CEO of Paxman Group and Co-Chair of the WYCA Healthtech Cluster, will be among the speakers. He said: “West Yorkshire is home to a thriving HealthTech cluster, and this event provides an invaluable opportunity to bring together the people and organisations driving innovation across our region.

Fellow speaker Oliver Hindmarsh, founder of Havilland Health Active Ventures, added: “This event is important for the sector right now as we are in the early stages of what will be the most radical change in technology, its development, and its application. These changes have already started to create an unpresented shift in the Healthcare world and specifically to hiring strategy and ultimately to patient care and clinical outcomes. AI sits at the intersection of all of this.”
