A recap on January’s masterclasses

Posted: 3rd February 2021

A key part of the Propel@YH programme is providing our cohort with a structured programme of support and advice that will enable organisations to accelerate their growth and market presence in the longer term.

Our cohort have jumped straight into the New Year with a month jam-packed with masterclasses and sessions held with our partners – this included:

Workfinder Support

Our cohort were introduced to Workfinder, an application that connects startups with the best and brightest young people for high impact remote placements in your business, across marketing, data, or technology. The session focused on building a strong team and how to support internships remotely.

As part of the programme, our cohort has access to the wealth of talent on Workfinder- just one of the benefits of the Barclays Eagle Labs partnership.

Barclays High Grow and Entrepreneurs – Beyond Banking Session

The next session was hosted by our partners Barclays Eagle Labs, whose session focused on finance options for fast scaling businesses and how traditional banking isn’t always the right option for startups.

As well as offering advice on financial queries, Eagle Labs also specialises in positively disrupting key industries by bringing together key corporate players, industry bodies, leading universities and start-ups to enable rapid innovation and investment by asking them to collaborate and currently have dedicated LawTech, HealthTech and AgriTech industry-aligned programmes.

Understanding and managing complexity using NASSS-CAT

Our last session of the month was held by subject experts mHabitat, who talked our cohort through using NASS-CAT to reduce and manage complexity. The session explained the difference between simple, complicated and complex in relation to the framework, as well as the principles of improvement under the conditions of complexity.

Based in Leeds, mHabitat is a co-design, digital inclusion and innovation team hosted by Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
