Shortlisted Applicants Pitch to Improve Healthcare Outcomes in the Yorkshire and Humber Region

Propel@YH held a pitch event for its inaugural digital health accelerator programme yesterday, 17th April at Co>Space North in Leeds.
The event featured pitches from the programme’s shortlisted start-ups and scale-ups innovating in digital health, where each business was invited to provide an overview of their ventures, and the potential to improve health outcomes in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
The fourteen businesses to pitch for Propel@YH cover a broad spectrum across the digital healthcare market: Balsamee, Digibete, DigiDentistry, Ely, Enyware, Healthcare Engineering, HeteroGenius, ITECHO Health, Kemuri, Medicsen, Medicspot, Modality Systems, ReStart Consulting and Scaled Insights.
The judging panel was chaired by Dr Victoria Betton, managing director of Propel@YH’s delivery partner mHabitat, and featured:

Ros Davies, Director of Social Inclusion at Good Things Foundation
Maureen Drake, Professional Lead – AHP at the Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust and the Health and Care Professionals Council member
Sat Virk – co-founder of TPP
Bernard Ginns – Director of Branksome Partners
Dawn Carhart – Innovation Manager in Health Tech UK for Barclays Eagle Labs
Muli Kidane – patient and Healthwatch Leeds representative (Leeds Health and Wellbeing Board)
Jane McDonnell – patient and Healthwatch Leeds representative (Leeds Health and Wellbeing Board)
Dr Neville Young said: “This has been a fantastic day with fantastic innovations on display. It’s great to have worked with such a diverse assessment panel who brought insight and expertise in terms of the problems we need to address.
“Each member of the panel contributed to selecting a first, strong cohort of digital health companies committed to improving care and driving efficiency in the NHS.”
Dr Victoria Betton, added: “This has been a really stimulating day with a lot of different companies with different propositions.
